Vista/Windows 7 Installation Guide

Follow these three steps to install and run eCC on Window Vista/7

Enable User Account Control (UAC)

  1. Open up Control Panel, and type "UAC" into the search box. You'll see a link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off"
  2. On the next screen you should check the box for "Use User Account Control (UAC)", and then click on the OK button.
  3. You'll need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect.

 

eCC Installation

  1. Start eCC installation by clicking the "Install eCCv2.x.msi."
  2. Click Next.
  3. eCC Installer will display "C:\eCC\" in Installation Folder dialogue.
    Note: Due to some security restrictions in Vista/7, all users don't have read/write permission in Program Files so do not install eCC in any other folder.

  4. Now launch eCC.
  5. Make sure QuickBooks is Open but the Company file is closed
  6. When you use eCC very first time it will ask you to create a new store profile.

  7. Browse for the QuickBooks company file.

  8. After selecting the file in eCC, switch to QuickBooks and Open the company file.

  9. Now switch back to eCC and click the Test QuickBooks connection, you will see following screen in QuickBooks
  10. Select the 4th radio button and check the "Allow this application to access...." box.
  11. Hit Continue and you're done.

Standard User Permissions

Both QuickBooks and eCC should be run with standard user permissions (NOT elevated to run as administrator).
