Orders Stuck Behind a
Half-Built Connector?

Intuit's free connector broke order posting for thousands of Shopify merchants. You've been absorbing the fallout.

Webgility doesn't just replace the connector. It adds a verification layer that checks every posting before it reaches QuickBooks — blocking duplicates, missing mappings, and broken transactions before they corrupt your books. That's not a feature you'll find in any connector, free or paid. It's what going Beyond Sync actually means.

📋 What Intuit changed — and what broke

The migration came without warning.
Three things broke immediately.

In mid-January 2026, Intuit migrated all Shopify + QuickBooks Online users to a rebuilt version of their connector. The migration was not optional. Here's exactly what happened.

🏦

Your orders stopped posting to your books automatically

Instead of syncing straight to your income accounts, every Shopify order now piles up in a holding queue. Someone has to manually approve each one before it records — one by one, every day. At any order volume, that's a full-time job.

Stopped producing invoices for all Shopify orders. This issue started when the new upgrade was rolled out in Jan 2026. We have called a few times a week for a fix but no solution.

⚠️ Manual accept required per order

When you do try to manually accept, orders fail or duplicate

Many merchants find that accepting orders in the queue doesn't even work — orders refuse to post, duplicate silently, or vanish without a trace. Your books are falling further behind while Intuit's support queue grows longer.

We were migrated without being asked and it messed up our books really bad. Created new GL accounts not relevant to our business — took forever to sort out. Cost us money to clean up.

Inventory sync was removed — with no replacement provided

Intuit cut inventory sync entirely from the rebuilt connector and gave merchants no migration path. You're either tracking stock manually between Shopify and QuickBooks, or you're running blind on what you actually have to sell.

Inventory and sales management have become impossible. Multiple fixes are required. As if we had time to waste.

⚠️ Permanently removed — not a bug

This is not a temporary glitch waiting to be patched. Intuit has not published a fix timeline. The Banking Feed routing is a backend architectural change, and inventory sync was removed intentionally from the rebuilt version. If you're waiting for Intuit to fix it, you'll be waiting a while.

👑 Not just a replacement — a step up

Even a working connector
wasn't good enough.

The January migration broke three things. But Webgility was already solving four problems the Intuit connector was never designed for — even on its best day.

✕  Intuit Connector VS ✓  Webgility
〰️Order visibility Lump summary totals only — no SKU, no line item, no way to trace a discrepancy back to its source Every order posts item-by-item, fee-by-fee. Any discrepancy is traceable in seconds — no spreadsheet archaeology
🌐Multi-channel One connector, one channel — each new platform meant a new tool and a new reconciliation problem Shopify today. Amazon, Walmart, eBay, or TikTok Shop when you're ready. 30+ channels, one workflow, same accounting rules
🏗️Business model Designed for simple DTC orders — refunds, wholesale net terms, marketplace fees, and kits all needed manual workarounds 380+ commerce workflows built in. Net terms, kit explosions, payout timing, fee breakdowns — handled by design, not by hand
🛡️Integrity Bad postings were silent — duplicates and missing mappings only surfaced at month-end close, after damage was done Every transaction verified before it reaches QuickBooks. Duplicates, unmapped SKUs, broken orders — flagged immediately, with a resolution path

Built to last — not rebuilt to break.

Webgility has been connecting Shopify and QuickBooks for over a decade. We don't rebuild integrations in ways that break your workflow overnight. Merchant notification, migration paths, and backward compatibility are how we operate — not afterthoughts.

Webgility streamlined our accounting, automated sales and inventory management, and saved us thousands of hours. We finally have a system that keeps up with our operation instead of forcing us to work around it.

Thousands of hours saved · books finally accurate

Before Webgility our month-end close was a poorly written mystery novel. Now it takes a morning. 4 channels, never a missed posting. The reliability alone is worth every dollar.

❓ Before you switch

The questions everyone asks
before switching.

After a forced connector migration that broke your workflow, switching again feels risky. Here are the answers.

No. Webgility maps to your existing QuickBooks chart of accounts. We don't move, delete, or alter existing records. New orders flow into the correct accounts going forward. Historical data stays exactly as it is. Before anything goes live, our onboarding team reviews your account mapping with you — nothing posts until you're confident it's right.

This is the #1 concern for most users. With Webgility your existing books are safe.

Most merchants are fully configured within 1 hour. Our onboarding team handles the account mapping with you. If you have a complex chart of accounts or custom workflows, it may take longer — but we do it with you, not at you. Every account gets a dedicated onboarding specialist. No self-service configuration required.

Yes. Two-way inventory sync is included. What Intuit removed in January is what Webgility has always done — and continues to do. Shopify stock levels update QuickBooks, QuickBooks updates Shopify, in real time. This isn't an add-on. It's core to how the integration works.

No. You can run Webgility alongside the Intuit connector while you test. Once your Webgility integration is configured and running correctly — which our onboarding team will confirm with you — you can disconnect the Intuit connector at any time. There's no pressure, no deadline. Switch when you're ready.

You can test both in parallel before committing.
